HALCON/VENANGO COUNTY UPDATE; 4th permit pending DESKO property!

Halcon has applied for 4th permit in Venango County per e-facts. Multiple people named Desko in Venango County and multiple parcels. I am not good with computer and do not know what township this proposed well is located in?? Hope some of you more competent people can post more information and locate it in relation to where Halcon has its other three permits in Venango County!

According to the eNotice/eFacts page it is in Clinton Twp. Venango County.

and the one your looking for desko 2h sylvan is in clinton twp.,,venango  did quick search and the property should be about 3/4 to a mile north of bullion kennerdell.   this is not guarrented.  after permit is totally done they put the e map on it.  i think they should just put gps cords. on them from begining.

Brian and Bob: Thanks for the information on the location of Halcon's most recent contemplated wells in Venango County. Halcon"s actions have me totally befuddled. They recently "bailed out" of "leases" for thousands of acres in Venango County, and yet they continue to obtain permits for more wells in this very county. I fully understand why they have two permits for Greene Twp. in Mercer County because Greene Twp. is in the most northwest corner of Mercer County and borders Trumbull County, Ohio. Greene Twp., from the maps I have looked at appears to be in the "oil window" of the Utica shale. But as for their interest in Venango?? Maybe others have some relevant information or even high grade speculations??

Without knowing all of the details....their actions indicate they cherry picked what they wanted and are now preparing to develop particular areas of interest, IMO.

I do not know what they are doing. My information is that they are not offering to lease properties that are adjacent to or very near the sites for which they have permits. My information is hearsay and could be wrong. Perhaps somebody knows more and will post.

You are partially correct Sam, I have talked to several of the landowners around the well sites in the Polk area and my property is only about 1 mile from one of the sites. They formed a group of  around 3000 acres surrounding those sites and have been talking back and forth with Halcon about a lease, they thought they finally had a deal and Halcon turned it down only wanting a few of the neighbors right next to the well site, they didnt want the others. The landman called me the day after they rejected 1/2 of Mercer county, but I never talked to him after that. I know Halcon has sunk a pile of money into the sites around my house, today they had about a gazillion trucks hauling material into the site on Valley road, on my way home I passed about 12 trucks coming and going out of there. I think money is the biggest problem for Halcon IMO.

James: Thanks for the update. It's great to get information from someone who lives near  Halcon's contemplated well sites and who has some first hand knowledge of what is going on. Please post when the drilling  rig actually arrives on site. That will be really exciting. I am of the opinion that no landowners in Venango County are likely to see any royalty money for perhaps five years. That is because I tend to believe we are in the wet gas area. Special 20 inch gas lines are required to transmit wet gas and these are non existent in Venango County or any place close that I know of. Also the wet gas needs to be processed and there is no nearby available plant to accomplish this. I do not think the Cracking facility contemplated for Beaver County can be up and running in less than 3-4 years, or even longer. These are my personal speculations and I hope that they are wrong. In the meantime we can hope to lease the deep gas rights, get some bonus money, reserve the shallow gas and possibly sell it to a conventional driller, and get some modest royalty income from the shallow gas. I understand that there are transmission lines for this shallow dry gas near my property. Keep the faith and keep posting. Sam

Sam, I will let you know once drilling starts, I go by 2 of the sites which are about 2 miles apart almost daily, the pad on valley road looked completed today as I seen they had porta potties on top of the pad and other things that made me believe they are almost ready to start drilling any day. The other site they started clearing a few weeks ago and today when I was by they had a nice stone driveway back in the woods about  a 1/2 a mile or futher. These 2 sites cant be more then 2 miles away from each other, Halcon is putting alot of money into this area, the 3rd site out on the Polk Cutoff is only about 3-4 miles from the other 2 sites. Shell/vista are going to be drilling just a few miles west from these sites, I hope I am in the middle of something big, Halcon has 3 well sites and Shell/Vista are drilling 1, all within about 5 miles from where I live.

Thanks again! I hope my property is good  though I am a little north of you. My property is off of Waterloo Road. Waterloo road becomes Whipporwill Road when it crosses the Georgetown Road.  You probably are familar with the area and can pretty much figure out where I am located.

James; I was at both sites yesterday around 4:30 PM  Lots of tri-axle trucks hauling stone at the Allam site, saw at least 20. The Rainbow site just to the north is progressing fast also. Didn't get to the site off of the Polk Cutoff. Maybe next week.

Was at the courthouse around 3:30 and there were only about 8-10 people in the deed room. Thought there would be more. Maybe some had already left for the day.

James; You are a great source for how wells in western Venango County are progressing. I think getting progress reports helps to keep us psyched up and optimistic. Still, its hard to put too much trust in Halcon.  Keep posting.

There have been title people in Holmes County Ohio that have left for Venango County in the last week.
