Own small amount of acreage in Monroe County. I live in PA but my family lives on the property we own together. Signed an easement lease with a certain company in 2007, which was recorded at the courthouse Nov. 2007. The problem is that I was remarried in Dec of 2006, Our signatures were notarized outside of our presence with a date of July 2006, but my signature is my new married name, which I didn't start using until the end of 2006/beginning of 2007. The easement agreement is now being called an Oil and Gas Lease. On top of all that, Ohio is a Dower state, so my new husband would have had to sign any paperwork with me because, as my husband, he automatically has a right to that property, as well. I don't know who to call, on a legal level. This is a company who has current legal issues with other landowners in that area. It's only because we signed a legitimate lease a few months ago, and due to their property search that this issue has now come to light. Thanks in advance for any help with atty names or other info.
