This doesn't feel right.  Shell has had enough time to run the governors of PA, OH and WV through the wringer to get ever concession possible.  Yet, the announcement of the ethylene cracker hasn't been made.  Keep in mind that the lead time on this facility is six years.  Something doesn't smell right to me.  Is shell waiting to see the results of more wells before committing $2 billion?

Youv'e been watchin to much Buyou Bizzillioneers there bud.

what?

You may be right. Very few wells producing.

Maybe Shell is waiting till after the presidential election ?

I think these job numbers thrown about are way too high.  And I seriously doubt many of those will go to residents of Aliquippa or Beaver county for that matter.  You need experience to work in a refinery unless you aspire to push a broom for $12 an hour.

now that must be why the refinerires are shutting down, not because of obama's epa, its because you need experience to work in a refinery and those experienced people are probably dying off. heck, pretty soon they'll be shut down altogether.

could be busy buying range resources

Glenn, I was talking to a fella Monday whose son used to work for Range,as a geologist. He said Shell did indeed buy Range, fwiw.

Can't imagine what kind of a price tag that deal would have attached to it , but would be HUGE I'm sure.

Shell is supposed to announce the LOCATION of the Cracker Plant by the end of the 1st qtr. of this year.

Sounds like they are building , just have to decide where.

If March passes by without an announcement , then I will start having doubts.

Well , it's still March and there's no need to doubt!

So far Shell is proving itself to be a company we can believe in!

Best news ever to hit the Valley!
