Which companies might consider buying Infinity Natural Resources for it`s Marcellus/Utica development in Armstrong/Indiana counties? They seem to be doing well.

PADEP inspection reports indicate a split casing cause the leaking of nearly 3,000 barrels of flow back brine water contaminating a stream.
How is this problem for INR going along? Will they be back to drilling again soon?
Any news or updates on this well incident?
from todays Marcellus Drilling News
Infinity Natural Resources, the Morgantown, WV-based driller that bought Antero Resources’ Ohio Utica assets for $1.2 billion earlier this year, isn’t done shopping. CEO Zack Arnold told Hart Energy at its SUPER DUG conference in Houston in September that Infinity is “actively looking for the next opportunity.” Arnold also dropped a few other nuggets worth your attention: Infinity has drilled its first deep dry gas Utica well in a Pennsylvania field that has only ever produced from the Marcellus; a “couple” of unnamed operators are starting to develop the Marcellus in eastern Ohio; and newly available state and federal lands in Ohio are a fresh source of drilling locations. Well, not Infinity, but EQT and Range Resources have agreed to a Merger, with EQT remaining.
What a huge surprise today. Where does this place CNX or INR in the Western PA power struggle? Who is next to be merged with or bought?
Infinity Natural Resources arrived late to the party for the Deep Dry Utica and seems to have gotten a fringe outlier acreage position. The $36M stock deal for the deep rights to the South Bend field was by my back-of-the-envelope calc akin to paying Chase Oil Co Marcellus royalty money at 12.5% , with the Deep Dry Utica practically thrown in for free, no real bump in value. INR launched their IPO with Deep Utica a declared objective, yet early on loaded on billions in debt acquiring Antero, who was heavy into Wet Utica in OH. So with the Summer 2026 Deep Utica ambitions in S. Bend being long-delayed-- scaled back in announcing only a test core at one point? -- now going sideways, it's not clear they'll survive to become a Deep Dry Utica power player in South Central PA region.
What do you think might happen to them? Could they sell their South Bend assets and only focus on Ohio?

What makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ]
