I'm so confused by the activity in Geauga the last two years... First their were company's signing up people for leases left and right... then it kind of died down... and then no one has gotten paid for the leases they signed. Does anyone have any intel?

Kyle,

I thought someone would have responded to you by now.

The simple answer is yes there will be wells drilled in Geauga.

The difficult question to answer is when?

The answer is eventually. The companies are building their infrastructure beginning where they currently have production. This will expand over time and will get to Geauga.

How long that process will take would be a guess.

Kyle,

Chesapeake  drilled a test well in Parkman in January of 2012.

That report isn't terribly reliable.  It shows Noble county as weak, which is pretty inaccurate given the most recent numbers.  I'm suspicious of that.

Its just weird to think that all these companies out so much work and effort into signing thousands of leases and then their be no major drilling in geauga county... What I heard was that Chesapeke was the major player into paying money for leases to land. But what happened was that their shareholders were getting restless and wanted them to put more energy into production and less energy into signing leases... So I'm guessing they have just put it on hold for a while... I live in Leroy and their are so many anti-fracking signs. And their does seem to be a lot more work trucks... I've heard from real estate ppl that it will happen but the real question is when??... Anyways, thanks for the info!! I appreciate it.

Kyle,

That pretty much sums it up.

The test well was a bust, but what that means is open to interpretation.

Ditto to the Utica Shale post.

I was through Leroy last winter and there were indeed alot of anti fracing signs!

Yeah, I don't understand why people are so against fracking... People just want something to complain about without fully understanding the process.

Elaborate....

The big Utica landowner beatdown continues if you ask me.

Patience my fellow Landowners, friends and neighbors.  How many years did we endure the downfall of the steel industry and the loss of good jobs in ne ohio?  Good things will come to this area - Trust in this!  Listen not to the naysayers - there is no truth in what they say.  Only deception driven by greed!
