It seems like all the action is down south, That has me thinking Mahoning County is not what they thought. Has anybody heard anything about Mahoning County?

The latest article on the results of the well

Nils Johnson of the Law Offices of Johnson and Johnson of Canfield has worked with landowners and energy companies in the Mahoning Valley for many years. He said this week that production numbers at the Ellsworth well and technology improvements have increased interest in Mahoning County oil and gas. That includes property owners and those who want to buy mineral rights.

“Our phones are ringing off the hook, as it should be,” he said. In the past couple weeks, property owners have been approached about leasing their mineral rights for oil and gas exploration, he said.

For everyone's information, Ascent Resources is offering $ 6,500 per net acre and 20% gross leases in Monroe County. If EOG proposes leases in Mahoning County, ensure you obtain those terms.

Interesting price point as well as a reasonably high mineral rights price.  Filling out the relatively small available acreage in Northeast Monroe county in their current footprint or elsewhere?  CNX did pretty well in their Marcellus rights sale to Expand at 7500 acres for 57 million.  I've read EOG doesn't like to pay up for acreage, wonder if someone else might try to build a position as EOG has a large position, but looks like there is plenty of room for someone to enter (as well as parts of Columbiana County).

Someone in the Oil and Gas Industry posted this in part on facebook regarding the Ellsworth Well
"keep in mine oil is around $55/bbl and nat gas is at 2.50 after basis. No real rush to drill and this does not leave room on the open acreage for huge signing bonuses or even a competitive edge for them to make crazy fast moves. Mahoning and Trumbull have the resources, it's going to take a while to see activity. Espechially in the awful market we are selling the minerals in to date."
