I am told they are independent Analysts.....They do not own any land or have any leases of land in the Utica..........Very interesting map......I have no Idea as to their ability to be correct in their opinion. I am just the messanger .......but it should create some interesting conversations........

Bluflame.......The thing that I see different about ITG map is that it is put together by a group who has  no leased land, nor do they own any land in the Utica shale area. They are an independent investment advisory group who put together reports for their clients(investment banker and etc.) I do not think they care what the results are, they just call them as they see them.......if they don't call them right they will lose crediabilty over time and loose there clients. .....When one of the Oil/Gas Energy Companies put out a map/report, I have to question who they are trying to influence with the data? Stock holders? There own lending institution? .....or are they trying mis leed someone?... like the land owners?.... How much is straight fact and how much is a story written in a tone to tell a story they wish to convey...This  is what I think most of their report are all about.....ITG is a group used by big money to try and sort out all of the Energy Companies reports into a non biased report that takes all points of view into consideration. I believe big money lenders/investors do not put a whole lot of value in the Energy Company reports as a stand alone report, they do their own rescarch.......

 ........... ALL IMHO

Contrarily:
It's my opinion that they mold their report to say what
their clients want to hear and what places their clients
in the best light.
Their income depends on their clients.
It would be their interests (their client's interests) guiding
their reports.
IMHO
Who paid the analysts to generate the report ?
Follow the money ?

Joseph,

"Follow the Money"

I hear you neighbor.  I am in Northern Trumbull and I presume you are in Ashtabula.  Lots of nonsense on here .  BP is not going anywhere.  Halcon is moving quick - this will spread into Ashtabula soon.  I have learned a lot from this site and from the ODNR and county recorder's website.  Facts are found there.  Interesting tidbits and BS are found here.  But this site is fun i have to say.  I do not pretend to be anything other than a listener and researcher. IMHO

Best wishes & good luck to us all!

Ditto Dude !
Thanks.

Hi Gary,

I see your point. Certainly there is a large element of self interest in the data they present. I'm impressed that Antero also shows their competitors' published results. Also Gulfport publishes a similar map on their periodic investor updates, which is kind of a verification of Antero's map. (As Mr. Reagan stated in a different context, "Trust, but Verify."

At the end of the day, we're all (including ITG) dependent on the integrity of the E&P's to publish honest data. Frankly, I believe they'd shoot themselves in the foot if they were suspected of publishing bogus stuff.

Having said all that, and having sliced and diced their investor reports, I do believe every E&P presents the data in a manner that puts them in the best light. They're certainly not touting their failures, and very likely there have been some.

Likewise IMHO,

Bluflame....I agree with every point you make.......I think if you super impose Antero.s map over ITG's, I think you will see many similarities to the two maps......ITG just shows more info in the southern portion of the Utica....I have no idea if they are correct....IMHO

Gary,

I think you meant to say Antero shows more info in the southern portion of the Utica. After I sent the last message, I visited ITG's website. They seem to be high-tech investment analysts, with offices worldwide. In a brief skim through the site, I couldn't find any O&G data.

It's also possible I have the wrong ITG, but I think I followed the link you posted earlier.

BluFlame

Bluflame,.....Yes....I have looked at their web site,...was impressed. They would appear to be top shelf organization.....I'm sure for a few or several thousand dollars a year you can get their reports..... would appear they are not your $99/mo report group. .....Gary

BluFlame....on their web site click on "reports" in the upper section.....Gary

Thanks Gary,

Saw the reports, but didn't see any offer to sell anything. Maybe it's a case of "If you have to ask, you can't afford it!"

BluFlame

Awesome! This puts me right in to the play!!!! Beaver Township, Noble County on the MAP!
