No doubt the man who said he was going to attract busines to Ohio is doing the complete opposite! Goodbye gas drilling! "We believe that by modernizing our energy taxes, we can allow all 11.5 million Ohioans frankly to benefit," Kasich said.
More taxes? He said he was going to lower taxes! What a Socialist!

The Ohio Oil and Gas Association said it has concerns about the proposal and is against any tax increase. The association released the following statement in response to Kasich's plan:

"Crude oil and natural gas exploration in the state is still in its infancy and increasing the severance tax at this critical juncture will negatively impact the economic future of Ohio and its residents. For this reason, we oppose a tax increase of any kind, particularly one targeting an emerging industry.

The Ohio Oil and Gas Association said it has concerns about the proposal and is against any tax increase. The association released the following statement in response to Kasich's plan:
Though we would generally support an income-tax decrease, we do not support asking one industry to disproportionately fund it. We also believe that Ohioans who have struggled during the economic downturn would prefer to have a good-paying job now, instead of a small tax break years down the road."

I am a Socialist! I have a Socialist brain! Duh!

What if?  What if he never get reelected because he is a Socialist! What if pigs could fly?

Are all other industries in Ohio going to pay higher taxes to support the statewide tax decrease?

Buddy, you have no idea what you are talking about, no concept of long term planning, obviously no grasp of taxation and economics.

Since you brought it up, there is a Socialist.... making decisions for everyone in this country, his present address is the White House.

Kasich is a great man making sound, well planned decisions for Ohio.

He can move back over here anytime, our state would be in much better shape.

Oh brother! If you think tax the rich (landownwers/investers in resources) and then give it to others is OK then you my friend are a socialist also! You must not be a landowner! Raising taxes is not a good thing even if it is with a promise to lower other taxes! Get real! It is the same old BS and you fell for it!

Sorry pal, I am a landowner I have my own company and I am an employer. Meaning I employ people. and no one despises taxation more than someone who has to meet a payroll every two weeks. So decisions we have to react to, even the smallest ones have serious impact. You are lucky to have the guy over there, you just cant see it.  This is well over your head.

State Rep. Sean O’Brien of Brookfield, D-65th, has a different thought.

“How will this tax affect the oil and gas industry?” he said. “Taxing it could have an unintended consequence of slowing it down. We need jobs.”

Kasich is clearly a socialist! Wealth redistribution is Socialism! Pal!

Oil and gas companies will be required to prepay taxes to local governments, at a cost of $25,000 per well, to cover road repair and costs from increased truck traffic and other impacts from increased oil and gas production. Those funds would be recouped by companies over time through tax credits.

What other companys that have increased production and more truck traffic because of that have to pay more taxes?  Please answer that question?

First I agree with you and I have a huge bias towards prosecutors who land in politics, I love it!. They have a better view of things. Like small business owners do. Companies who have increased production, employ more people, who buy more things, who employ more peple who pay more taxes. You dont sound old enough to understand this, you have to go back into the 90's and study what happened, where growth came from, what was actually produced, who benefited from it. I dont agree with a per well fee, thats insane, road and bridge damage is covered by bonding, if you break it you bought it. Meaning insurance policy money is spent, and goes from one place to the next, people are employed. Tax credits are what?? do some research and figure out what a "tax credit" actually is.

Simply put a tax credit is a sum deducted from the total owed! In most cases it is money paid regardless of taxes paid. In any case when you tax a business more for being successful you are in effect killing it! The jobs created by this gas/oil boom are going to create enough revenue. No need to increase taxes on anyone or any entity. In fact with this boom taxes should be decreased on all. This tax increase he proposes is in fact wealth redistribution.
