GMS Community,

We launched GoMarcellusShale, in the fall of 2008, to network and empower landowners in the Marcellus Shale. At the time, my oldest was 2, she’s now 14! What a trip it has been. It didn’t take long for me to realize the GMS was playing a huge role as the play developed. For all of us 2020 has brought many challenges. The same goes for this community as we’ve hit a rough patch with the pandemic and we are seeking donations from those that appreciate GMS.

Due to the pandemic’s effects on advertising, we are asking our community members to consider giving to keep this a place for networking, learning and promoting shale drilling. We want to ensure that we are able to continue operations through 2021

Thousands of landowners monthly continue to visit our community to glean and share information. My hope is that our network will continue to thrive and make a difference for landowners with mineral ownership. We need a place to discuss these important issues.

GMS has always been 99% funded by advertisers and we've worked hard to keep it that way. I want to keep the sites free and open for anyone who wants to join and participate, or join and simply read. This has been made possible through great advertisers and a loyal audience. However, with the pandemic, this has become very difficult. In 2020, we lost our main advertiser, an oil and gas event company, so we are reaching out to you.

We want to be sure that the network's fixed expenses will be covered for 2021. These expenses primarily include software services. Your donation will help us recoup some 2020 losses and plan for a successful 2021.

And by the way, no donation is too small. We take each donation as a sign of encouragement to keep plugging away.
