map to see land that is in a unit

is there any way to see how a unit of land lays?

am in a 1250 acre unit and wanted to see who all is also in the same unit and how far it reaches out, whether runs with lateral lines or does it go in a circle from the well site?

It will be apart of your paperwork "called the declaration of a pooled unit"
The full size of the unit is shown, all names included in the unit are shown and how much of their minerals are included.
In columbiana county I was able to access mine before I received it from CHK by going to the court house.
If a declaration of pooled unit has been finished it will be apart of your deed now.

What is the name of the well/what company is drilling/what State/what County/what Township?  If you know the answers (and you are in Ohio), you can get a copy of the plat map showing who is in the unit, how much land each landowner contributes to the unit, where the boundaries of the unit are, how it "lays", etc...all is available on ODNR website.  If not yet published, you can call ODNR and they will email you a copy as soon as they have it.   If you already know you are in one, chances are good the plat is available.

Hi Hiker,

My unit and others only showed the leg on the ODNR site and the mineral owners within that leg. Its been filed for a year so it may be there now but it wasn't.
I had to go to the court house to prove to myself and others these units were bigger then shown on the ODNR site. It was fun.

Yes, it does sound like fun.  I like being able to "go to the head of the line" to look stuff up in the records room since I'm not an abstractor.   Interesting that your unit doesn't show on the ODNR site and has been out there for a year.   Got lost in Columbus?  Someone spill their coffee on it lol....

Try the above link to get you to the ODNR Well Locator.

Once you get there, look for a green button and click on it to initiate the map.

You'll need the correct Adobe Version to use it.

Do your well search and once you find your well you'll see various information windows and buttons for other information including diagrams.

Click on them and see if you find the information you're looking for.

Hi,

Mine could be there, I just never had a reason to go back and look after I had the paperwork.
Again this wasn't just my unit, it was all the units around me. ODNR was only showing the leg or legs permitted. Example; the only leg in the unit had 156 acres on the ODNR site but the court house paper work showed the true unit to be 510 acres.
It was fun. Our courthouse has cleared out so I'm happy to say there wasn't many to push aside to get to the counter.
I did have to pay $2 bucks a page since it wasn't on the computer yet.
I hate the ODNR site and I still think its faster to go to the courthouse if the ODNR really does show the whole unit :0)
