That fellow is correct - the jobs are definitely out there. The company I work for is losing close to 50% of the applicants who are offered positions because of the drug test. We then seem to lose another 25% of the remaining ones in the first few weeks because of the physical work and hours. I explain the hours and expectations in the interview, but I guess it's different once they actually work it for a few days. There are good jobs available and even the ones that start at $12 to $15 per hour have great potential for more fairly quick, if the employee sticks it out for a little while. Those who do make it earn a very good living - much better than any amount I ever saw in my 20s. If the unions got in, I don't think the industry could afford it.
