Permalink Reply by Tim Tarr on April 22, 2014 at 1:41pm Great news !!! I think, Where are the other 10 needed to replace 6000 megawatts due to be lost this year ???
The closure is part of the company's compliance plan, which aims to retire nearly 6,000 megawatts of coal-fueled power generation by the end of 2014. The Kammer plant is one of five plants in West Virginia and Ohio with an expected closure date of Dec. 31, 2014. Additionally, six other plants would retire generating units but continue operating some generation at the plants. - See more at: http://www.news-register.net/page/content.detail/id/556002/AEP-Coul...

Permalink Reply by searcherone on April 27, 2014 at 4:15am Another article on this new proposed power plant with a few more details of the plant as well as the location. Including the fact that 105 million dollars of natural gas would be used per year. Anyone else think they may be other generating plants built in the upper Ohio Valley? My opinion is that there will be others built.

I'm not sure if it's the same type of facility, but there is a gas fueled power plant proposed for Lordstown, Trumbull County, OH.
It only makes sense that with the abundance of affordable natural gas that more of these will be proposed and bulit.
Searcherone, Ohio Land Management in the last three weeks has been in discussion with an out of state entity seeking 25 acres near the PA line in Mahoning county. They are very confidential about the usage and have asked for details which we have submitted. Initially they have asked for three sites to sellect from and we have given them three. Now they have narrowed it down to one site and the ball is in their court. I will post more when I can, but I beleive it maybe a power plant.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
