Summer is right around the corner and with it the sense of community we get at picnics and other such gatherings. The natural gas industry is no exception to this and has already started out the season in the spirit of giving by participating in activities held in the communities their employees call home. If this past month is any indicator, it’s going to be a great summer in the Northern Tier. Cabot, Williams, Chief and Chesapeake and others all make major contributions to community causes; sponsoring events, helping to build a hospital, donating to special causes and a number of other examples of extraordinary giving. Thanks for posting this exciting article, Thomas.

As these activities expand into other communities and those communities begin to realize that the exploration companies, along with what they bring to the community, are truly their friends and will make genuine efforts to be viewed as good neighbors, the resulting community approval level will likely easily overcome and drown the nefarious efforts of the anti-gas crowd.

I, for one, eagerly await such positive results.
