I had posted on here, about selling my gas and oil rights, but I have seen answers that don't really help me make a good decision one way or another. Some say no, the rights are worth $100,000 an acre, others say that is quite an exaggeration. I had not thought about selling my rights until a company called me to ask. The company is Vine Royalty, has anyone else had dealing with them or have hear of them. After they called, I starting looking up companies and filled out a few forms requesting an offer. My question besides the one about Vine Royalty is, has anyone sold their rights and what was the price they received per acre? I am not accepting any offers yet because I believe they are rather low. I own property in Belmont County, Colerain Township. Thanks

Marsha beware of flippers they buy off you for 3k an acre and sell it for 6k or more also if you sell and the oil and gas company releases this land the bonus money will go to the buyer so they will get your bonus money and your royalties just something to think about Bill

Thanks Bill, I am aware that there are people who may take advantage. I am trying to make a good decision for my family. There have been people on this site that say property in the right area should be sold for $100,000 an acre, but I know that is an outrageous price, and if that is so, why aren't  more people selling. Another of my issues is that we sold the property, 42.32 acres but kept the oil and gas rights, and we moved several states away.

The answer is always what best fits your situation.  Is money in hand now important to you, are you in a site near to be drilled, are you willing to wait?

Marsha-I buy mineral rights.  If you are interested, in getting a real offer,  I would need the exact location of the parcel, if it is leased or not, and if leased, the terms of the lease and some additional information.  No legitimate company will give a figure based on the info you gave given.  The price between two identical tracts could vary greatly, depending on many factors.  If you are actually in the market, you can "friend" me on this site, and I will get back to you, or you may call my office at 304-420-1185 in Parkersburg, and we will see what we can do for you.  Thanks-Ken
