Company sent me a Letter wanting to Lease my Land in Columbiana County. Told me my Lease was up in 10 months, and they said not to sign any paper work or cash any checks. Letter said those Leases with Chesapeake can be Voided !! Because Chesapeake did not send letters or tell landowners when the Leases changed Hand or Sold !!!!!

Was that in your lease with Chesapeake that they had to notify you if your lease changed hands? Did your lease change hands? There is no law that I know of that requires the company to notify you. They must file any transfer full or partial at the recorder's office ... Total for example, DPS Penn. Those are all on file in Columbiana County recorders office. I am not sure the company is giving you factual information. But I would not sign anything or cash any checks either until I consulted an attorney regarding all of this.
