No Water Fracing

Does no water fracing eliminate the need for fracing sand?  It sounds like it would.

I wouldn't think so. Regardless of what fluid you are using to fracture the shale, you would still need something to keep the fissures open so the gas can escape. 

 

I could be wrong though, just thinking out loud.
