I was talking to a guy who works on the pipelines.  He actually measures the amount of gas going through the line.  He told me that when negotiating your lease, you should ask for BTU's of energy at the well-head.  This way you are covered no matter what product comes out of the well.  ( propane, butane, whatever.....) .
