oil/gas lease addendum removed post signing

My parents signed a oil/gas lease with a no option to extend addendum.  When they recieved their copy it had been removed.  They don't have the original only the copy.  Is there anything they can do?

Find a good oil and gas attorney - IMMEDIATELY. They should have never signed a lease in the first place without this kind of legal representation. They should have never walked away from the lease signing without copies of that lease that they should have put in a safe place for future reference. I don't mean to sound harsh but this is very important and they now need to do everything possible to correct the situation.

I have seen this before,  my parents negotiated a lease with Mason Dixon in 2008 that had several addenda including a depth restriction below the Clinton sandstone.  I was unable to attend the signing, and the landman had slipped them the original terms without the agreed to limitations.  When it was pointed out to MD, they said it was an unintentional error on their part, however they did not offer to incorporate the previously agreed terms.  Always read every line before signing, and consult with a lawyer.

I have recently received an offer, did some research on this excellent site and others, and progressed to the landman dropping off a copy of the lease/offer. I am in southern butler county and it is for 3000/acre with 18% royalties. Is this a good deal? I have contacted an attorney for his review and expertise -- how much should I expect to compensate him? Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.
