IS THERE A TIME LIMIT ON PERMITS THAT A O&G COMPANY GETS? SAY A CERTAIN COUNTY IN PA. AT A CERTAIN WELL SITE  GOT A PERMIT AND THAT WAS MADE FOR APRIL 1, 2013 DOES THIS HAVE A TIME LIMIT ON IT? IF SO HOW LONG?

    In PA a well drilling permit is good for one year from the date it is issued. It can be renewed for a lower fee to the driller than is charged for the initial permit. They can (and do) renew permits repeatedly over the years, I'm in a unit where the permit for a second well has been renewed twice.

I was told by a white collar from Chesapeake that if they do not renew a permit for a wellpd by a certain amt of time that DEP makes them reclaim the sight-hauling away fill,grading and seeding site,etc.
