We signed an oil and gas lease for our 30 acres, in Portage County, over 3 months ago - only to find out today we do not own the mineral rights on our property.  11+ acres goes back to the 1800's and it appears that the rest was bought for the mineral rights and then sold. 

So if you signed a lease don't spend the money before you get it...  because you may not own the mineral rights or they may decide not to drill in your area or any number of things can happen.
