Sorry to all of our anti shale development friends.

Unlike the propaganda that the anti crowd spews,  this study was conducted by the state, scientifically. Then it was reviewed.

Don't bother me with facts, lol. There have been way over 100,000 oil/gas wells in Ohio for many multiple decades, long before the horizontal craze, and they were all fracked with water. :-)

The biggest fairy tale told by anti shale activists is that hydraulic fracturing is new, under-tested and dangerous.

Although it's true that fracing has changed over the years it is still based on the same principles from 60 years ago. Hydraulic pressure creates fractures in the pay zone and a proppant (usually sand) helps keep the fractures open.

It is also true that "chemicals" are a part of the procedure. But just as you have chemicals around the house, those used in hydraulic fracturing when used properly do not present an apocalyptic environmental hazard.

Hydraulic fracturing is no different than many processes used by industries; processes that bring us the comforts of life.
