Question, signed a lease with a company in Greene county Pa. In the lease we were promised the signing bonus plus royalties. The 90 day period for title review had passed in Feb. Finally, we got the final review which gave me and my relatives all royalties and no signing bonus . They gave the landowners no royalties and half of the signing bonus. Needless to say people are upset, and the company is using tactics such as taking the oil and gas "right from under the landowners feet" whether or not they sign the latest agreement. They are also using the eminent domain argument to let them know that they are the only holdouts when everyone else has signed. Understandably they are anxious to put the pipeline in now that its Spring, but I don't understand how there can be two different interpretations of the deed. We are being told we have 100% of the royalties and when broken down it gives each of us 20%. How does that translate into funds. Is it a reasonable amount? I wish we had the funds to retain a lawyer but we don't. Thanks.

Stop where your at, go to the nearest lawyer, believe NOTHING they tell you. If their mouth is moving, they're lying!

You can own the royalty but not the minerals.  Royalty is nothing more than an interest in a producing asset.  Minerals have value because they come with executive rights over the property.  Go find a competent oil and gas attorney and give them everything on paper that the E&P company gave to you.  Do it now. Do.  Not.  Wait.
