Here's a good article with a summary of Chesapeake's history of underpaying royalties which applies to everywhere they operate.

Many, if not most folks, that now have CHK is through an assignment of their lease. Such as the entire northern panhandle of WV. I signed with Fortuna in 2007, then it was assigned to Range 6 months later then Chesapeake bought it in 2011 and drilled to HBP me in 2012. No pipeline in place yet - probably a good thing. Maybe it'll be sold (unlikely) or CHK will be forced to play more fairly by the time production begins.

That's how they were in Stark County Ohio back in 2010.  I even tried calling other companies that were in the Marcellus and no one wanted to talk to me.  CHK bought all the HBP deep rights and those of us there were not HBP had only CHK to deal with.

I figure there screwing by 2,000.00 per month @12months=$24,000.00 a yearx30 =$720,000.00 I think ill sue.

Are you located in NE PA, cj?
Is there a class action vs CHK in PA yet that everyone can sign onto that's being underpaid their royalties?

I'm in northern WV with CHK and rooting for you guys in PA. I'm a member of the Bradford County forum and remembered seeing you post there. I gave you guys some ammunition a while back to try to help.
