Seismic Survey Payment

recently got a letter from a company called TGS wanting to do seismic surveys on our leased property. Anyone had experience with this and any pros/cons? They offered us $5 per acre which sounded really low but I have no idea. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Craig, those are all good suggestions to discuss with them.  I will do so and see what they say.

 

My O/G lease has much better wording to protect my interest as far as any damages goes than what TGS has in theirs.  I'm reluctant to sign away my rights on that O/G agreement unless I can get similar wording, or have the O/G company agree to cover any damages, but i don't see either happening from what I have read in these blogs.
