A friend from work told me that he is in a split pad unit. He is in the north side unit and will not share in the royalties from the south side unit even though there is only one gas pad. Is this good or bad for landowners? What about the landowners who have the pad on their properties?

patty, All you need to do is contact the dep and get a copy of the well plat. Also if they are already drilling they have to file a poled unit at the court house. All u need to know is the well pad name and go to the court house and you will beable to look this all up. Found it faster to go to the court house.

Thank you I am going to give this a try, it states on Marcellus.org that two of the wells are drilled.  Someone else on here said to go to the county recorder office in the court house also.

information please:

is there anywhere on line that I and checked the size of a well pad and what leased land is involved?

I have the API and location. Carroll Co, Ohio

thank you

what is the well #

It is my understanding that it pertains to what unit is listed with his acreage on it in the permit for the unit.

I just posted this discussion with some links about that if you would like to read it:

http://gomarcellusshale.com/forum/topics/information-about-wellpads...

and they can contact the local courthouse or landex if they utilize that and find the recorded document of their acreage in the unit.
