The drillers will eventually drill everything in sight. For now they probably have a list of large areas that have been leased and are about to run out of the Primary Lease, which means they will have to pay another bonus in order to continue into the Secondary Lease period.
Take a look at Carroll County Ohio on the below Ohio interactive well map. You'll see how close together the wells are and they are moving across the county. Also find a Texas well interactive map and you'll see the same if not more wells side by side. You may have to wait your turn.
