Well, you guys sure are having fun with this. Can you do me a favor Philip and plot these coordinates in your Guernsey file?

39.864
-81.635

Even better I will show you how to do it. In the search window type the coordinates and click search.  A pin will appear on the map.  Right click on it and click copy. Then you can paste it into your places.  You may want to create a folder such as well or county and paste it into that.

Let me know if it works for you.  I am happy answer questions about mapping.

Bingo! Thankie!

Now you see how I add the wells.

Try downloading a platmap and use the coordinates to plot the surface location,  entry point and bottom hole.  Then use the add path button at the top of the window to draw a line between the 3 points that you ploted.  That is your lateral.

Problem.. when I click on the URL I get a blue window that shows "video" music etc. and I cannot go anywhere... Windows 8 I got..

What should I do to see this...?

thanks, Mike

Mike, If you are trying to download the whole map you will need install Adobe Acrobat:

http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.html

If you are trying to download one of the maps that I made you will need to install Google Earth: http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html

If you do install Google Earth you may want to choose to not install the Google Chrome browser that they try get you download at the same time.

I have both of those things.. but iim guesiing it is my "browser" ??

any time I try and click on one of these url's my computer takes me to

a BLUE PAGE with icons of VIDEO PICTURES etc. and most don't work...

Thanks for trying to help tho...

I even copied and paste the URL here up in the top of computer and same thing...

I find it does this on other sites too...

Mike

Mike, I think that we can fix this.  Try RIGHT CLICKING on this map of Guernsey county:http://gomarcellusshale.com/forum/attachment/download?id=2274639%3A...

Then click on Save File as.

Then save the file to your desktop.

When you have the kmz file on your desktop try right clicking on it and then where it says Opens with click on the Change Button and select Google Earth to open the file.   Let me know if this works.

James and Philip,

Any better data (perhaps identifying additional Precambrian faults) in the northeast (Ashtabula County) ?

Staying tuned - just nothing for me to contribute to your most current conversations.

Thanks for all of your valuable efforts.
