What is the procedures when an O/G company puts a unit together? A relative had their land surveyed by a company, but have not received any notice of being in a unit. The people surveying told them that they were surveying for a unit. My relative stated it has been two weeks since the surveyors were there; and still they have not  received any notices. Any ideas on what is the procedures and time line of being notified by the company?

Thanks Oliver!!

I signed up to the PA DEP website to get notification of updates on permits.  We are now starting to see permits for our well site -- permits for stormwater and for erosion and sediment control.  How optimistic should I be that this means sure progress toward drilling?  Any idea of a timeline from these first permits?  We are leased with Chevron in Greene Co., PA.

Could you please post the link you use for notifications?  Also, where is your Greene County lease?  Thanks!

It has been two years or so since I signed up, and I do not remember exactly where I went.  I think this is the place http://www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eNOTICEWeb/.  The leased property is in Dunkard township.

Thanks Jenny,

The land they own is in Ohio......so we are looking up info on the ODNR.

Does the ODNR show permits for erosion, storm water and sediment control as Ginny S. states that PA Dep. shows?
