Hello:  I am new to this site so please bare with me.  First off, we have been contacted by SAIC ( a water testing Co for Chesapeake), the water tests are ran, we have the results back.  One of the SAIC people told us we are included on the ALTENHOF pad, when will I know this officially?  I wasnt sure if we have had our water tested since "we are included" or just because we will be close to the well???  I have looked on the ODNR site and can see where the well has been permitted, but what are the steps as to when I will KNOW for sure we are in it? Or does anybody know WHERE I can find this info out for sure?  THANKS for your help.  Chrissy

Hi!  Can't speak for Chesapeake, since we're with Cabot, but notices of unitization sometimes take 17 months after a well has started to be formally filed around here.  Our water was tested, and tested, and tested, and once more tested several months prior to the well permits.  Cabot tests everyone within a certain distance from a well.  Hope this helps.

Hi Lori:  Thanks for your input, learning alot here on the boards!  (-:

or about 10 years from now when you realize they drank your milkshake without paying and there's no entity left to sue as they went chapter 11......bwahahahahahahaha

There are also ways to check into your particular well, if you know the well name.  Go to www.marcellusgas.org, put in your county and township, and look for the well you think you might be included in.  If it's in the works, you can order the "drilling map" for $10.  If the pad has more than one well, you'll want to order a drilling map for each well, since the lines go in different directions.  The drilling map shows approximately where the drill line is going--and it shows the property lines and who owns each parcel.  If the line is under your property, you'll know you're included.  It doesn't tell you how many acres you would have included (you'll have to wait for the official unitization to know for sure), but it's an excellent starting point.  Good luck.

I checked out the link Lori, You must be in PA, I am in N.E. Ohio.  The well I am refering to is a Utica well.  Im still waiting on the ODNR to update thier site so I can view the map of the well.  The only other option I have is to wait about a week to even get in the front door of our court house to view a map....I'm about ready to do it!!!  (-:   I spoke with a gentleman at the ODNR, he said they have 1 recorder and are about a month behind to get stuff posted to the internet...thats craziness!  When I check on the lattitude and longitude of the laterals they are about .15 mile from our house, the ONLY reason i thought we were included is from what the SAIC water test people told us is that we are included on the map, and they had 3 months from Chesapeakes date to get all the water tests done on those said properties.  I'm just getting anxious and NOT a patient waiter  (-:  THANKS for your info I appreciate it.
