Just wondering if anyone has any idea if noble county center twp would be considered a sweet spot for oil or ngl? Antero is drilling and permitting a lot but it seems to be more toward Seneca lake lately. Any info would be appreciated. My family's trying to decide whether to hold out or lease what we have left. Thanks in advance.

My opinion, you are in a good place.   When they drill the Schroeder well in Center Township, a gathering pipeline will follow, and it's always good to have a pipeline in the area.   The line that Antero is putting in right now is not far away.   Consol is drilling like crazy to the east of you.  Center looks to be wet gas with a possible oil content, similar to the Miley...if..if...if.. the formation follows the pattern.   The Bean ridge CNX well in Stock township was all gas, and the Sanford to the west in Buffalo township had a decent oil content, so that puts Center township....well, in the center.  There are variations to be sure;  the Rubel to the east had a pretty decent oil content in addition to lots of wet gas, and they are getting ready to frack the Norman and the Yontz just south of the Rubel, so the results there are of great interest to those of us in the area, and we hope they will be as good as the Rubel was (they should be).  Indeed, Antero is drilling another well on the Rubel pad since the first one was so good, and they have taken out 2 more permits to drill NW off the Norman/Yontz pad (Gary 1&2), so all in all, I would characterize that immediate area as a main "sweet spot" right now.   Obviously, the other "sweet spot" is the area of the Wayne, Coal, Milligan, Miley, and Consol 16, 19, 30 and one other I don't have the number for.  Mt Ephraim would be the center of this bunch.  The Schroeder isn't too far south of this area also.   Hey, it ALL could be good, and Antero is simply drilling where they have existing pads and pipelines planned, exactly what Gulfport said they were doing.  I think they will be drilling here for years and years, so I don't know what I would do in your situation.  Probably lease to Antero and invest the money.   Good luck making a decision since it will be another year before we get more results from Antero.

Those big REX wells (Whisky Run) are right on your doorstep and Antero has the Dollison pad (SW Beaver) ready to rock when the rig is available (and another next to it in the planning stages).  That means you have two pipelines in the area, but the east-west one I saw crossing 513 (is that a Markwest line?) should go right past you, and that's good for getting a well.   Good area from the activity.  Lots of Consol ground on Jack's Run, and Consol is drilling Noble County also.

Yes thanks for the very informative reply hiker! And good luck to you also

Thanks, we all have our fingers crossed.  Maybe 2014 will be our year!
