The perception by some of professional image varies in importance to some. To some they care not about a companies image but cost and the result of doing business with a company. So with that in mind what would your opinion be in the following questions.

1. If you were the well owner would what would you do if you found out that during fracking operations (this includes all functions, wire line, maintenance work periods in general while work was being performed)  that Satellite TV  on a 55" flat screen for data display was being watched by your company man  upon that location, to make matters worse both soft porn, and hard porn.

2. What would your opinion be of the company that supplied such entertainment at the work site?

3. As a land owner would you be alarmed of such activity upon your property during sensitive operations that could result in accidents.

4. With Federal law which details what sexual harassment in the work place can consist of would you not question the over all management mind set of the way the company does business and the lack of sensitivity to employees?

Speaking as a land owner I hope this is not a top of the food chain well service company.  In any case it sounds like conditions are ripe for a BP Macondo type incident.  If its a public company operating the well I would find a phone # on the internet and call hq  and then see what happens. If its not top down  rotten surely heads will roll,  however I recall investment guru Peter Lynch saying years ago he only invested in companies an idiot could run since sooner or later one would.  Hopefully someone has a better answer.

Very unprofessional, the companies I had worked for would consider it a violation of several policies.  Most likely they would terminate the employee.  There is no good reason for that kind of action.  It sets a miserable example for the rest of the crew onsite.

To which company, the provider of the material when the provider knows there doing it? Or the well owners that employ their designated company representative on site?

Assuming the satellite data links are connected at some point to the well operator's computer network, the company man's employer should be able to trace back the links that provided the content the company man was watching.  His network managers would likely take a very dim view of his viewing activities as there is a significant risk to the network security from linking to porn sites.

Billy,

First point would be, if this guy had that kind of time on his hands, there needs to be one LESS guy on that crew. You know who I would let go too!

As the well owner, the sat TV would have never been hooked up.

There should be a company policy that porn should never be allowed on company property / at well sites.

As a landowner  this is one of many reasons I insisted on a very strong hold harmless clause. I can not control what happens on that drill site.

Big questions as far as company. The site manager is not doing his job. He may think he is improving his image, but is really showing how weak he is. Big opening for lawsuits.

BPW,

I would send this information to every company involved and hope, no, demand that they act appropriately.  Damn the torpedo's anyway!  This kind of behavior is exactly what we don't need in the industry and it should be dealt with harshly!

BTW, if you agree with me send me a friend request.  I need all the sensible folks on my mailing list for USA.

A call to the well owner was routed to safety director's voice mail So far no return call.

Any bets on if he will return my call?
