We haven't actively pursued leasing our land, but recently it came to my attention that nearly everyone in our immediate area of Pease Twp had signed, many of them with XTO. So, just out of curiosity I wrote them to see if they'd be interested in our property and this is the message I received. I'm only posting because I thought it might be of some interest to some of you. I know they're not the only ones and there are plenty of others, several of whom my other neighbors have signed with.
"At this time, XTO is limiting our leasing area to only where we plan to
drill this year. If your property falls within that area, we will contact
you for a lease. At this time, we are unable to tell you if you will, or
will not, fall within our drilling area in Ohio. ... you will only be contacted if you fall within our drilling area."
Tags:
XTO has a lot of acreage leased in Belmont County, and has yet to drill their first well. Probably just waiting for results.
Angela: Gas prices are so low and reports are coming in showing dry gas all around you. They
are probably running away from their acreage and asking why they leased there in the first place.
