First Energy powerline maintenance.  Happening along large stretches of land in Ohio and western PA.

We are familiar with helicopters surveying the power lines but this seemed much different.  This helicopter cut wide over lapping swaths and did not follow any power line and was a much larger copter.

My land has 2 rows of power lines and about 6-8 weeks ago the helicopter flew over 3 different days all 3 days different patterns. Then a few weeks later someone showed up to mark the trees and said the helicopter was looking for trees with diseases and dying that were in danger of falling on lines .Then a few weeks later crew showed up to cut the trees that were marked. So if that is the case in your area you will be hearing the chainsaws In a few weeks.
