A friend of mine is looking to buy a specific piece of land in Beaver County and would like to know if it is already leased for oil and gas.  I believe the sale is a foreclosure of some type so typical real estate agent information does not apply.  In Butler County the lease status can usually be found by searching the owner's name at the Butler County Recorder of Deeds website.

How could this be done in Beaver County.  I'm not familiar with the Beaver County Courthouse searching systems.

Thank in advance for any help.

I found the information I needed on the Beaver County Recorder of Deeds site after locating the owner's name on the GIS site.

So ..... nevermind.

Phil; Regardless of reason for sale the deed to the property has to be there.  Go  to this site, click log  in as guest.  https://www.searchiqs.com/pabea/Login.aspx  Youll need the deed number, or name of person who currently is registered as the owner.  Look under grantor, this will show that the person who owned the land prior to the sale sold it to include mineral right.  Also other deed numbers will appear that correspond to the land, In my case I had to search back 40 years to discover the minieral rights trail to my property.

Good luck,

Thanks Tom,

I found what I needed yesterday.  I had the street address and I entered that on the Beaver County GIS site.  That gave me the owners name (turned out to be the previous owner) then I went to the Recorder of Deeds site (your link) and searched the name.  That led me to the recent sale of the property and that new owner name led me to the August 2012 lease to PennEnergy.  This was in Economy Boro.

Thanks again,

Phil
