There appears to be more and more UD Rhinestreet activity - permitting and drilling in Beaver County...

Here is some interesting history to the Rhinestreet Shale:

BLACK SHALE AND SANDSTONE FACIES OF THE DEVONIAN "CATSKILL" CLASTIC WEDGE

IN THE SUBSURFACE OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA

Robert G. Piotrowski

John A. Harper

Circa 1978 DOE

Excerpt:

"In December, 1975, St. Joe Petroleum Corporation completed the Ashcroft 91 well in

Greene Township, Beaver County. As with the nearby Metropolitan Industry well,

the Ashcroft well was originally drilled as a test of a deeper formation (the

Lower Silurian Medina Group) but was plugged back to test the Devonian Rhinestreet

shale. Again there was no natural production, and after hydraulic fracturing

there was no sustained flow. The gas was there, but with the present state of

stimulation and recovery techniques it could not be produced economically. This

well is currently shut in."

Todd,

I'm curious about the Baillie Trust as that well pad is four miles West South West of me.

Phil, All,
Seems like there is a lot of experimenting going on and about to go on in the UD and Marcellus. The operators appear to be trying to figure out the best relative depths to land the UD wells. Perhaps, either the relative organic depths change from location to location but, hopefully, their is a very thick organic interval, specifically in the Rhinestreet Shale.
Phil,
I hope that that those Baillie Trust Burkett wells help seal the underlying Tully Limestone and increase Marcellus production as Range and others are predicting.

The Liberato 3H M Rhinestreet well in Ohioville is completed and should be a Wet well.

Good news is that there is an NGL pipeline within very close proximity operated by Buckeye Partners, LP.
