Drilling Unit & Royalties rates

Someone mentioned to me that if you are in a drilling unit, the royalties can change.  The person said if there are 4 landowners in the unit. 3 landowners have 12.5% and 1 landowner has 15% - everyone in the unit gets 15%.  I'm skeptical of this commment.  Does anyone have anything to add here?

The person was misinformed. Each property with in a unit receives the royalty rate specified in their lease. In your example 3 owners would get 12.5% and 1 would get 15%
