I just got a letter from Chesapeake to sign a Subordination Agreement for my mortgage.  Anyone have any input concerning this?  It states that if I default on my mortgage my royalties will be sent to the bank.

I got one too. What I'm wondering is if it goes to the bank/mortgage is it going to be applied to the default payment or just a payment to the bank to do as they please with it?

They record them in court house to get in line on mortgage if you have one I just thru it in the trash they say ,o we need it so you can get your ckeck l.

I got the same thing a few months ago. I signed it and sent it back. If you get behind on your payments they will send your royalties to your mortgage company. I guess they don't want the headache of their leases being in a legal mess if a property goes in foreclosure.

They do hold the money, but do not send it to the mortgage company.

I am not sure if this is true but if you were to re-mortgage or something you may not be able to get a loan?  Just ask because I believe there is something to that!

Be very cautious!

We are pulling our hair out trying to work with Chesapeake! We are getting royalty checks from Anadarko, Mutsui & Chesapeake. The check from Chesapeake took out withholding tax because we did not sign the division order, but DID send in w9's. And worse, the Chesapeake's royalty check is made out to me and my mortgage company! How the heck and I supposed to cash that?? Does anyone have any tips? Our original lease was with Chief. EXCO bought it and now I think Anadarko owns it. I don't even know who to call.
