XTO assigned 62 leases to REX, most of them in southern Butler County. The documents were recorded today 5/29/13. I have attached a pdf copy for anyone interested.

That's interesting.  Either XTO was a middleman garnering leases (doubt it but not sure), or got an offer they couldn't refuse from REX and mostly, REX is serious about developing the area's potential.

Thank you, Oliver

Thanks for your response and insight, Joe.  I thought their efforts had become inactive.

There was a large transfer of Rex leases to XTO including the property that the XTO Hicks Road plant is on 18 April, 2013.  Otherwise, mostly east of Route 8.

The transactions XTO to Rex and Rex to XTO were complimentary I believe.

I own one of these properties.  I leased with XTO via an owner's group.  Most of the owners are in the northwest part of the county.  I was told XTO really didn't want my parcel(only 16 acres) because it was not in the geographic area they were leasing, but leased me anyway because I was affiliated with the owner's group.  I ended up with a better lease than I would have with REXX, who now owns my lease anyway, and got a little better bonus money.

Dan,

It seems like things worked out great for you. REX is a prolific driller who has leased many other parcels in Muddycreek Twp.  I would bet you will be in a unit in the next couple of years. Good luck to you.

Thank you Oliver.  Keeping my fingers crossed.
