Are there any companies offering this?

Most company leases are multi-formation. Why do you ask?

YES!!  This is not unusual, but the companies would much rather tie up your rights to China, and will put fine wording into their leases to achieve that goal.

Co-exprise out of Wexford, PA has successfully negotiated countless leases for their clients throughout the Marcellus/Utica states for 2 formations simultaneously.  I'm not capable of doing it, but the Co-exprise team is accomplishing this feat for the landowners' group I'm involved with in PA/NY.  The protections, added benefits, environmental issues, and pay-outs our lease addresses, are all in addition to ONLY OFFERING 2 FORMATIONS.

CX (for short) has successfully done this for public lands, commercial, and private acreage. It CAN and SHOULD be done!

Thanks Janice,

I totally agree. I know a company in ohio that has also successfully negotiated a 2 formation lease. PAC development is the company name.

Lab , who and how do you get in touch with PAC

H Bo,

send me your email and I will send you there contact info. Not sure if we are allowed to post emails or phone numbers on here

A thought to all: While I'm sure that we're all referring to Marcellus/Utica formations, others exist at shallower levels that are being developed and produced successfully using the fracking technique.  Rex Energy has purported great success in western PA in Burkett shale.  This may exist in OH as well.  However limiting to 2 layers still allows for great potential for future lease endeavors.  Having the layers referred to by name and depth #'s in a lease leaves no doubt exactly what is included in the deal.
Hi lab , my email is rackridge123@gmail.com  thanks
