Thanks Keith on your encouragement for we in Elk to firm up our group. I think Dan Rupert and others would agree.

I'll start off by saying we only got an interest in our land from Markham/Snyder and we are working with them now. We have feelers out to EQT and MDS Energy with no response as yet.

We did get a no interest from Senaca and Range Resources.

It appears things are slow currently but things are happening around us especially over around Kersey.

Nothing else to report but would look forward to hearing from others in our county.

Best,

Joe Kuhn

Things will be a little slow in terms of new spuds due to the low natural gas price. The E&P companies right now are focussing on capital expenditures and land/lease consolidation with each other and ramping up for drilling down the road as prices increase. Right now, the price of NGas is near the break even point for drilling in the Marcellus, so the more shallow wells in the other shale plays are more profitable. Prices are expected to start to really increase in early 2013 and going forward.

I recently signed a lease with Markham/Snyder after talking to Range. Markham is brokering these leases in Elk County to EQT. My property is near Medix Run.

Bob,

We have land near you on Winslow Hill. May we ask how much land do you have? And can you share  how much and how long was the lease agreement for? And did you give "surface rights"?

Joe,

I have 104 acres. The lease is for 5 years . I did give surface rights but they pay me $5000 per acre if they drill on my land. If you wish to call me for more info - 973-945-6609.
