I have been approached by Global Geophysics (who are mapping the Marcellus shale in Pennsylvania) to do a study on my property (100+ acres), which is in North Union township.  Anyone have any experience with them?  Anything to beware of?  Does anyone know the potential for $ payment to landowners for these studies?

Who are they doing the seismic for?
Is your property leased?
If it's not leased, I wouldn't allow it.
Property is leased with Marathon. Marathon is a customer of Global Geophysics and will get the data.
I agree with Faycopa. Don't do it if you aren't leased yet. They are probably only going to offer you $3 - $5 to do seismic. Not worth the risk in my book. If they want your acreage, make them offer you a fair lease.

Global says they are working for various drillers, but primarily Marathon. Marathon confirms this, so I would guess they are OK They are offering $3/acre.
