Permalink Reply by Art Tripp on October 22, 2013 at 4:34am Have you had any luck signing with anyone? My wife & son attended a meeting with "Landowners Leasing Group" at Salt Fork Lodge on Monday and were quite impressed with their resources and capabilities as they are very centered toward the landowners interests. We are unleased in Guernsey County at this time and are planning on joining the group and feel it will be much better than attempting to sign as an individual and the more individuals they have, the better negotiating position everyone is in. They have additional meetings on Thursday in St. Clairsville and on Monday in Woodsfield. I believe they may also try to have a meeting at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center in Cambridge.

I had to work so wasn't able to attend the meeting but my wife and son (recently graduated Magna Cum Laude and can be quite critical in judgement) were able to attend and found their presentation and knowledge to be quite respectable. In speaking with them and reviewing the informational packet they were presented, I feel quite good about it. Their website is: http://landownersleasinggroup.com

What oil company is this landowner group dealing with?
Permalink Reply by Art Tripp on October 23, 2013 at 4:14am My wife didn't copy the list but said they had a graphic with a dozen or so companies that they deal with which included the major players and others - Chesapeake, American Energy Partners, Chevron, Gulfport and more. The specific company can depend on who already has leases in the area and who will provide the best lease offer. Reviewing several of her notes: Bonus pays $5,000 to $7,200 / acre (East of I-77), Royalties 18-20% of Gross (no cost deductions), and other provisions that are in the interest of the landowners they represent. They seem to really have their act together for the landowner.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
