Permalink Reply by Todd on February 28, 2012 at 8:17am Update on the West Falls Formation that is being drilled on the Allison Farm: The West Falls Formation is actually the bottom portion of the Upper Devonian Shale. The Rhinestreet Shale is part of the West Falls Formation. It is a Black Shale 75 to 100 ft thick in Hancock County.
