I recently received a rather arrogant letter from Marathon Pipe Line regarding a proposed pipeline through part of my farm in Archer Twp., Harrison Co., OH. Does anyone have any information regarding this pipeline? Is this line considered an interstate or intrastate line?

Permalink Reply by Greg on December 23, 2013 at 4:59am I am in Rumley township very near Archer and have gotten a few letters from pipeline companys. Don't remember getting the feeling of arragance though. The last one I got was from either Shell or Sunoco. They just asked if I had intrest in them using our property.

Permalink Reply by Randy on December 23, 2013 at 5:51am I am along Lower Clearfork near Merryman as well and received this same interesting letter. Have recently read articles on Marathon's Cornerstone Pipeline. One was in the Business Journal out of Youngstown and the other in the Akron Beacon Journal. I'm sure you can find them on the web.

Permalink Reply by WranglerRouser on March 17, 2014 at 4:11pm Below is a link to a fascinating article in Pennsylvania Outdoor News about a report presented by the agency’s chief deer biologist, Chris Rosenberry. The article points out an interesting correlation between a buried pipeline and a doe's reluctance to cross the pipeline as determined by a large set of GPS data points from the radio-collared deer. Any landowner who also hunts or generally enjoys the wildlife therein should also consider the possible implications this information might mean when negotiating a ROW or easement as part of the "damages" associated with such an agreement. Food for thought.
