Hey there everyone! Discovery acquisition services (DAS) sent me a request to lease my land for seismic mapping. I dont want to do it, but was curious about the pittence they are offering... 5 bucks an acre? sheesh! I havent researched the going rate, wanted to see what you all know about what a fair amount is.

I signed up. It's a few hundred bucks I wouldn't have had. Think of it as contributing to the bigger picture.....or not. It's your choice. I figure if it helps us out in the long haul then it won't be such a pittence in the end.

I did receive a letter from SWEPI (Shell) stating that participation is appreciated. Food for thought maybe?

JMHO,

Glenn

Read the agreement! "DAS agees to pay you as reasonable and customary compensation for damages, if any, to your property that is associated with this survey."

What if they set off the charges and your well collapses, windows crack is that reasonable and customary damage? I know no one has ever been lied to by a landman, and they told me they would take care of any problem caused by the testing. But I believe everything I read on the internet also lol.

I have lived with blasing way bigger than this and do not have a problem with it. If it is good for the area in the long run I say bring it on. But the wording of that one line dose bother me!

I agree Thadd...thats what the letter says...  thats why I wont sign... I spent nearly $20000 for tile drainage, and several thousand for a good irrigation well...  if i lose that well, the $250 wont keep me in business. I dont feel secure with the language. And even if they are responsible for all damages beyond the compensation already paid, you can bet they would fight it. They can afford great attorneys, I cannot. Better safe than sorry as they say.
