Right passed McCormicks farm, Terry Kidd's place ....passed 4 mile, on the end of Airport Road that turns into the "Gun Club" road.

I'm assuming that the oil companies will deal with individuals before bothering with huge land groups like MGLG.

Well PDC has never turned down an invite to speak to landowners groups I don't figure.  As a matter of fact, I think one of the guys spoke to a group in Beverly area back when they were drilling here.  I only know this because he stopped at the house and left his card for us because he was going to be in and out of the site for a few days and wanted us to know who he was and volunteered to answer any questions we migh have.

 

Maybe I don't "see" things the same way as most people, I can deal with that, but when I think about it ... I would rather deal with ONE individual with a decent amount of land rather than a group of individual landowners with a substantial amount of "accumulated" land.  For the simple fact that the ONE person has standards for me to meet, we discuss them and come to an agreement, case closed.  With a group, the many individuals might have many different standards they want/need met and keeping them all happy is much harder.  But Land groups are capable of assuring the Company a guaranteed set amount of land, which is GREAT for the Company!! Probably comes down to does the end justify the means?

 

The Company has been really good to us.  All of the guys who've worked here have went above and beyond.  They needed the culvert welded, so Orin welded it together so they could lay it, we wanted to keep all the topsoil so they relocated it to a low point close by for us and reseeded it, they needed more straw so we sold them some right out of the barn which was handy, I needed out of the driveway on one of their busiest days of hauling stuff and semi's were moving and making room so I could get safely through, during hauling stuff in there were some deep ruts starting to form from all the trucks turning into the field and Orin used their roller to smooth things out so none of the guys would have to stop to do it themselves, the boys needed to get their trucks out of the barn lot to go places so the worker guys left the keys in their trucks so they could be moved, I fixed the workers supper one night as a "Thank You", they brought us hats, our horses got out and ran through the well site and I was the only one home - 4 of the well hands came and helped me and none of us took a hit from the electric fence, that big storm hit and the electric was out, they loaned us a generator to keep our freezer going, they needed the water valve turned off so they called us and Orin took care of it ................................... I don't see them as "the enemy".  Oh yes, I'm definitly ready for all of this to be over one way or the other, that's for sure! ha ha!! But maybe if there's something they need to help better things for others, and we have it in supply, we can share it with them because they're the ones who know how to get to it properly and dispurse it effectively.  Yes, they'll make more money, yes they could screw us over, but we couldn't do what they're doing on our own ........ karma is hopefully watching out for us!

This link was posted on the Washington County forum yesterday. Has info on this well. See page 20. It's being "shut-in for rest period". I would guess that won't last a lot longer so might see more info within a month or so. Other info in this presentation is interesting too.

Great Info! Thanks for sharing!  Not real sure what they mean by "shut-in for rest period" but I guess I would have assumed that to have been the month of August?  When no one was around except to check the gauges?  The past two weeks a few have been in and out of here swabbing.  And the guys came and reset some fence so we wouldn't be chasing horses every morning.. I'll get some updated pictures taken of the site and post them.

Hi Teri,

I've read in several places now that after fracking, wells should be left to rest for anywhere from a month to several months if I remember correctly. I haven't read the reasons behind it but I think after fracking it takes a while for the gas and oil to seep out of the surrounding area and build up pressure. I've also seen where if it's not left to rest properly it can "ruin" the well, whatever that means.
