Wondering if anyone is willing to share any information on lease offers or activity in Belmont County, Ohio?

We were approached by Starr Energy with a $400/14% lease offer on 82 acres. The terms were in favor of the gas company big time.

Also, sorry I sent this as an email to the group. Didn't mean to, but here;s a question for the more knowledgable out there:

We recieved something from Tristar (?) in February. My partners have the paperwork. We have until sometime in May from what I am told.
As I understand it, Tri-Star has backed out of the Wishgard/Belmont county deal and those leases will not happen. I know of a lot of people who are expecting a check in the mail and it isn't happening.
It is good to know that others in this group have some solid beliefs that have and will continue to stand the tests of time. Thank you for you insights!
No one is flawless, not now and not ever. Sounds like you got your feathers ruffled. I worked for CHK for sometime and if anyone could possibly make that claim it would be them, due to their integrity is on purpose. But, CHK would never make such a claim and you shouldn't either, because there is always going to be a chance for error. A company with integrity should communicate with the landowners and if they can't meet the OOP. Order of payment, then they should let the landowner know it could be longer than 60 day or 90 days or whatever.

that is right all I want is to cut through the bull and get some answers, so I know what direction to go.

Following is a link for calculating contract expiration.  If the contract is based on business days, then a 90 business day contract signed December 31, 2010  would expire on May 6, 2011.

Check out the following link for an online calculator:

I spoke with Jeff Bailey today from the non-profit group ALOV that was so successful in April with their 60,000 acre lease of land in Columbiana, Carroll, Jefferson , Mahoning ,Stark, Tuscarawas, and Harrison Counties that was signed with Chesapeake. This was a $2250/acre, 17.5% Gross Proceeds royalty that was very landowner friendly. They are gathering landowner names/contact info to start a Belmont county group. This might be a good chance for us in Belmont to get a lease written for the benefit of us landowners and not the oil companies or middlemen. Their website is below.

All are welcome to attend the Informational Expo in St Clairsville Ohio on May 18th.  Visit the Carnes Convention Center or www.shalewatchers.com website.

What time is this gathering and will it be with representatives from ALOV?

The Expo starts at 10 am and ends at 7 pm.  We have not heard from ALOV, but everyone is welcome.
So who is sponsoring this expo?
Shalewatchers is organizing the expo but there are several sponsors.  PNC, Buckeye Energy Forum, Northeast Appalachain Land Services, among others are sponsors for the event.  The full list of sponsors is on our web page.
