I would appreciate any info that I can get. We are in Summit County and there are Land Owner groups that support Portage and Stark but nobody is supporting Summit County.

We are currently engaged with Homeland Energy but if that does materialize as a plan B I was thinking of starting a landowners group.  I don't know the first thing about creating a landowners group.

Can anybody point me in the right diretion is starting a landowners group?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,

There are a number of folks who have successfully organized landowner groups throughout Ohio.  Feel free to give me a call if you'd like to discuss.

Tim,

What part of Summit County are you in?  We received an offer last week for $2,500 an acre and 16% royalties.  We were shocked when we got it in the mail and previously did not even know or expect that we would be getting offered anything.  We live on aprrox. 9 acres in New Franklin, Clinton mailing address.  We would be interested in a landowners group also.  We are not engaged with anyone and have not been contacted by Homeland Energy.  We got a letter and a least in the mail from Pleasant View Management.  I posted up a discussion to learn more about what is going on and any information people can give us on what to do but did not get much response.  Any insight that you have would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim and Carolyn

Hi Jim I am a property owner in New Franklin, Clinton also. I have been through 2 lease signings on property i have in Harrison County. I have been talking with some of my friends and neighbors here in Manchester about what could be coming our way. Being in a landowner group was really beneficial for me . Do you have a contact for Pleasant view management ?  Thanks Scott,

Scott,

This is Carolyn Jim's wife that has been typing the discussions.  Jim has the letter and lease in his briefcase and is on the road.  I will get you the info on Pleasant View Management as soon as I can but it may be tonight.  They have meetings in Akron every Wednesday from 4pm to 9pm.  I can get you that information also.  Jim was going to try to get there this Wednesday to see what was going on and what this is all about as we have no clue.  I can tell you that they offered us $2,500 per acre and 16% royalties.  I do not know if the royalty offer was net or gross as I did not even know there was a difference until I spent 2 hours on this sight the other night educating myself.

Carolyn,  thanks i will wait to hear from you. What road do you live on ?  I am on Ott dr.

Scott,

We live on Limbach off of Grove Road.  We have almost nine acres.  Only lived in this area seven years.  We are originally from up North and came south to buy land that we could afford to keep our horses at home.

I will request your friendship on your friends list and maybe we could exchange phone numbers and talk. I have been following this for the last year or so.

Ok, that sounds GREAT as I know my husband would love to talk to someone as we have friends that live in Caroll County and we ride our horses at Harrison State Park so we have know a little bit about what is going on down there but we did not think it would effect us so besides what we heard from them we have not followed it to much.  When of our friends signed a couple years ago for $1,500 and acre down in Amsterdam and I spoke to another friend the other night and she said that they have not signed anything even though they have been approached.  The $ amount looked good on the lease and letter we got but we are not signing anything that we dont understand and are not comfortable with.

Whatever you do have an oil gas lawyer review it. Pleasant View's lease is full of holes

I am a property owner in New Franklin also and have received the same offer.  I am interested in a landowner group.  I beleive that many of my neighbors on taylor road would be interested also.  Please let me know if anything is in the works.  I would be interested in talking to anyone that has the same interest.

Thanks,

Mark

We're Springfield township.  After writing my blog I've been in contact with Homeland Energy. I like their format . I think they are worth the effort as long as they are actively moving.  I'm hoping to have a local meeting sometime right after the first of the year.

Homeland charges a nickle on the dollar. The best thing is they only make money if the landowner makes money.  I don't feel there is any funny back office deals that benefit them without benefiting the landowner. Plus they audit the wells to make sure the drillers are on the up and up.

Tim,

Thanks for all the info.  Please keep me posted on how you proceed.  Currently my Dad has been in and out of hospital and having surgery tommorrow so this whole thing has taken a back burner for me.  I have not had the time to do any research, talk to anyone or go to any meetings.  Just other more important things in my life right now.  I do check these postings and updates when I can.  We definatly know that we are currently not signing anything right now.  I have heard/seen other comments about being BEWARE of Pleasant View and their leases.  We are still interested in a landowners group.  Please pass on your information as it unfolds.  Thanks a Million, Carolyn
