Has anyone been approached by more than one company to do seismic testing? One company is presently doing seismic testing on part of our property and we have been approached by another to do the same. It appears that they already have a permit just asking for our permission.

Yes. They are overlapping in the sesimic mapping. One company, Cougar who who works for ION has been very good. They have met with us & we signed an agreement to let them on our property & indemnify us. The other company just seems to run amuck. We had to tell them to leave until we had something from them in writing to indmnify us. (I feel it is very important in this day and age to limit any liability). Gibson township, Susquehanna county.
Yes, we have already had two different companies do seismic on our property.  If you're dealing with Geokinetics, be careful, they left behind ribbons, steaks, wires, etc.  My opinion is, have something written in the "permission" about them having to pick up "everything".
We too are being approached by Cougar (permitting for Southwestern) and have already had seismic done on the same parcel (Bridgewater Township)by a company working for Cabot.  How much are you being offered by Cougar to do the work?  I've heard $5(our offer) up to $25/acre (in New Milford Township).  Thanks in advance for the replies.  It is so helpful to be able to help one another out in this way.
They offered us $5 per acre.  Our property  is presently being tested by a company working for Cabot also. We are in Gibson. I didn't even realize the offer was negotiable. Our lease is not with either Southwestern or Caobt.
Were just offered $5 by Cougar in Harford TWP.
We were offered $5.00/acre by cougar. we are in Montrose.
Have you heard of any testing in Ararat or Herrick towmships?
