Thanks Craig, I came by the well about 11:20PM last night and there were lights on  there.  Wonder when they will flare it.  Thanks for the information.

Energy Current Oil and Gas Leasing Landowner Groups | CX Energy...and THIS is how they THEN (once a G/O Co. wants to TARGET a specific 'land area'...THEN CX Energy would send out postcards to people concerning leasing their land...setting up 'meetings' @ hotels or restaurants...you're familiar with this - like those 'picture set-ups' that would be in hotels years ago...MARKETING. Fine.

This is how THEY (CX Energy) worked both sides of the coin. *Predator to target market middleman mastery.

Marcus, have you heard about Halcon doing any more in western Mahoning county?

Not at the moment.  Because the midstream operations haven't hit Mahoning quite as much as other counties I think they're focusing on drilling a select few sites and putting in gathering lines for themselves.  If they're successful then midstream will come in heavier and you'll see more activity.  Mahoning and Trumbull are still in the exploratory phase, technically.  So you may have to wait another 12-18 months before there's enough data to really understand this particular area.  That's just my read in things.

Is Halcon actually going to operate this field or do you think they will sell out once it is proven.  Just curious.

Their stated plan all along has been to build a top notch E&P and sell it to a much bigger company.  They did it once with PetroHawk and were phenomenally successful at it.

So what is happening now and what do you think will happen in the near future in Trumbull and Mahoning counties?

You will see more focus in Mahoning and in non-urban areas.  Much of their Trumbull acreage is broken up and in difficult to drill areas because of the home density.
